Position Summary: This course provides an advanced theoretical and practical overview of teaching health and physical education at the junior and intermediate levels. Topics include: (1) approaches to teaching about the importance of physical fitness, health and well-being; (2) approaches to teaching fundamental movement skills; (3) attitudes related to active participation; and (4) professional leadership.


Qualifications – Required: Master’s degree in education/related discipline or extensive experience and leadership in school Health and Physical Education; Bachelor of Education and/or K – 12 Teaching Certification; K – 12 teaching experience in Health and Physical Education.

Qualifications – Discipline: Education or related content area.

Qualifications - Areas of Specialization: Health and Physical Education.

Qualifications - Preferred or an asset:  Doctoral degree in education or related discipline; post-secondary teaching experience in teacher education; Teaching Health and Physical Education in Ontario schools at the intermediate level; School leadership experience in health and physical education.

Salary: 4,207.50
