Position Summary: 

This is a special topics course on the topic of Reproductive Justice taught in the Social Justice and Community Engagement Master of Arts program. This seminar course offers an interdisciplinary, intersectional, and historical approach to understanding reproductive justice and its connections to social and environmental justice, including reproductive activism and social movement building particularly in Black, Indigenous, Disabled, and Queer and Trans communities. Topics may include: historical and ongoing colonization and its connection to reproductive justice, gender affirming care, reproductive healthcare for people of all genders, eugenics, sterilization and incarceration, and connections between environmental and reproductive justice.  

  

The successful candidate will be expected to familiarize themselves with the SJCE MA program and work closely with the Graduate Coordinator to ensure the course reflects the needs of the current cohort enrolled in the program.

Qualifications – OtherPreference will be given to applicants with a PhD or are ABD (all but dissertation) in their PhD program. Preference will also be given to applicants who can demonstrate a background in both scholarly research in the field of reproductive justice and community-based advocacy or activism related to reproductive justice.  

  

Note: Individuals who hold a CTF position to teach a graduate-level course will be required to hold Special Graduate Faculty Status. A nomination will be submitted on behalf of the successful candidate by the SJCE MA program. 

Salary: $9913.75
