Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Advancement Systems & Data Analytics, the CRM Analyst is a key hybrid role that bridges technical configuration, data operations, and business process implementation support. This position supports the transition and ongoing optimization of the Advancement CRM by providing hands-on delivery capacity for system configuration, data migration and data quality initiatives, and operational support for existing platforms. AER is a Department of over 80+ staff members and is responsible for all major gift fundraising, annual giving fundraising, external relations, alumni relations – including all events, solicitations and communications with our Laurier Alumni and donors.
The CRM Analyst implements validated business requirements through system configuration and data processes, supports data readiness and migration activities, and provides operational support for Advancement systems. This role supports day-to-day operational activities across Advancement while building domain knowledge of Advancement operations
Accountabilities
CRM Migration and Administration
- Implement validated business and stakeholder requirements through system configuration, workflows, dashboards, and reports, under the direction of the Manager, Advancement Systems & Data Analytics.
- Develop CRM workflows, custom objects, dashboards, and reports, acting as a primary system super-user for day-to-day operational support.
- Work with Advancement Leads/Subject Matter Experts and ICT to understand approved business requirements and assess technical configuration options.
- Liaise with CRM vendors on technical configuration, custom components, and maintenance activities.
- Contribute to project objectives and deliverables in collaboration with the Project Manager/Business Analyst, including documenting approved requirements and supporting configuration and implementation activities.
- Support all testing phases—including system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)—by preparing test data, supporting test execution, and validating configurations against approved business processes.
- Develop training materials, user guides, and procedural documentation to support user readiness and operational use of the CRM.
Maintaining Current Operational Activities
- Provide operational support for daily data processing activities, including processing, validating, and loading data files across systems.
- Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation activities to support data quality improvement and CRM migration readiness.
- Provide system administration support for iModules, including data integrity, user access, payment/gift forms, email marketing lists, and vendor support.
- Support the maintenance of integrations between Banner, the CRM, and iModules, and assist with the development of data integration and data quality processes.
- Maintain and enhance the Alumni Engagement Index (AEI), including supporting benchmarking and research into sector practices at Canadian universities.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a CRM analyst, configuration, or data operations role, with a proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational databases. High proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel.
- Experience in data transformation, migration, and data validation is a significant asset.
- Programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, VBA, Office Scripts) are an asset.
- Experience in advancement or fundraising is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, technical teams and non-technical business users.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple tasks in a dynamic project environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of business processes and experience supporting UAT, change management, and end-user training.
Hours of Work
This is a Full time, continuing opportunity.
The normal hours of work are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in hours may be required, including evening and/or weekend work due to periods of high volume. When possible, the manager will adjust hours to ensure no more than 35 hours are worked in a week.
This position is eligible for a flexible work arrangement, as per Policy 8.14 (Flexible Work Policy). All arrangement must be approved by the direct manager. In-person attendance for events, as required to meet operational needs, is expected. On occasion, this schedule may need to be adjusted to meet operational requirements.
Compensation
- Level: E
- Rate of Pay: $42.83 - $45.28 per hour with an annual step progression on anniversary date up to $48.95 per hour. Considerations for new hire step placements include, qualifications and length/depth of required experience, relevant market rates for similar jobs, internal equity, and estimated learning curve in starting the job.
