Position Summary: This course provides an advanced practical and theoretical overview to teaching mathematics at the intermediate level, with an intentional focus on grades 9 and 10 mathematics teaching. The course will examine the Ontario mathematics curriculum and explore approaches to problem solving; teaching; attitudes toward teaching and learning mathematics; professional leadership, and equity and inclusion.
Successful candidate will work with the course lead in order to provide consistency across sections.
Assets for a successful candidate: Doctoral degree in education or related discipline; post-secondary teaching experience in teacher education; Teaching mathematics in Ontario schools at the intermediate level; School leadership experience in mathematics education
Qualifications – Required Academic Degree: Master’s degree in education or related discipline; Bachelor of Education and/or K – 12 Teaching Certification; K – 12 teaching experience in mathematics
