Limited-Term Appointment – Business Technology Management

 

The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics (Lazaridis School) at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a one-year Limited Term Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Business Technology Management (BTM) program at the Brantford campus, commencing September 1, 2022. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching core and elective business courses in the Bachelor of Business Technology Management (BBTM) and service work for the BTM area.

 

The teaching load for this position is 6 courses (CA 18.2.1.5 [c]). Courses to be taught may include:

  • Introduction to Business in a Networked Society
  • Software Development
  • Marketing (with a digital focus)
  • Organizational Theory and Change
  • Ethics, Technology and Organizations
  • Management of Information Systems

 

Applicants for this position must have the following qualifications:

  • Possess a Ph.D. in a business discipline.
  • Can incorporate an understanding of digital technology into traditional business courses.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with student management issues such as timely grade assessments and academic misconduct.
  • Proven ability to deal with in-class and out-of-class technology including remote teaching technology such as zoom.
  • Verifiable capacity to work as part of a faculty teaching team to ensure consistency across classes in a multi-section course including but not limited to teaching coordinated course content, meeting deadlines for drafting assignments and examinations, meeting deadlines for marking assignments and examinations, and meeting deadlines for return of assignments and examinations.
  • University-level experience teaching in a business school environment.
  • Willingness and capacity to take on substantial service responsibilities as may be required.
