Position Summary:
Individual tuition in voice; weekly studio class.
Supporting the work of studio instructors by coaching and accompanying students. The successful candidate will have training and specialization in collaborative piano with a focus on contemporary voice accompaniment.
In addition to coaching and accompanying students in a 1-1 setting, coach accompanists may also be required to participate in: Student recitals, masterclasses, auditions for incoming students, juries, and other special recitals arranged for the year. These additional duties are compensated under article 25.6.5.2 of the Collective Agreement.
Voice
Qualifications – Required: Masters of Music in Performance or professional experience equivalent to the level of a MM in Performance, with recognition by the music industry or by professional peers; Advanced Diploma, Graduate Diploma, or other advanced credential. 5 years experience in coach accompanying in Contemporary Commercial Music.
Qualifications – Asset:
1. Evidence of being a sought-after coach, such as festival/competition clinician/adjudicator; guest masterclasses/workshops;
2. Evidence of student success (acceptance to univ music programs, awards at competitions/festivals);
3. National performance profile as a coach accompanist.
Salary: Hourly rate: $64.41 - $82.64
