Position Summary:  

This class continues the work from MU690A with emphasis on performance skills, and responsible, ethical crossovers. Modules include improvisation, extended techniques, genre and style crossovers; and crossovers with digital media.

Through this course, students will develop a deeper understanding of performance crossovers and gain a broader understanding of what constitutes music creativity culture. Students will be coached in various styles and combos.

Qualifications – Required: Master of Music in Performance OR Master of Music in Composition preferred or professional equivalency.

Qualifications – Discipline:  Expertise in improvisation; arranging and composition; ethical curation; knowledge of and experience playing contemporary music (classical, jazz, and popular); digital technology.

Qualifications – Asset: Professional experience in crossovers in contemporary classical music; coaching experience with various sized combos (especially with voice piano, and guitar); expertise in various styles of music from classical, jazz, to world, and popular.

Salary: $9,206.40
